How We Build Our Custom Bikes
The steel we use is True temper 0X platinum from Memphis, TN, and Columbus Life or Spirit tubing from Italy. We also use Titanium from Michigan (USA made not from China).
The Carbon fiber we use is a 3K weave from Huntsville, Alabama; shipped to Taiwan in Fabric rolls and of course molded in Taiwan. All sizes with Steel and Ti are all custom. A steel MTB, Road, Cyclocross, Road, Road Touring, Gravel Road Touring, are all custom.
The steel frames start at $1600.00 and are all American made by Richie Moore of Cysco Cycles in Chattanooga, TN. They have 16 years of experience welding.
The Titanium frames all custom Road, Cyclocross, Belt Drive MTB, Single speed MTB, and Hard tail MTB race bikes. All custom Ti frames are $2800.00 and really nice.
We can do all 26ers and 29ers in Ti and steel. Depending on the time of year, we can have the Ti and steel in 4 to 6 weeks and the Carbon in 20 days.
Forks? Depending on the Geometry of the frames will determine the forks. We like Enve Forks, Alpha Q ‘s and the Quality Bike Supply brand Whiskey .
There is a life time warranty on the Ti and Steel and on the Carbon, it’s 2 years.
All custom painting on any frame runs from $250.00 to $350.00. The paint has life time warranty. All the painting is done locally. We can do most any color and graphic the customer can come up with.
We have the Fit Master size cycle from Richard Schwinn and the Fit Kit.
We can build a bike while the customer is being fitted on the Fit master machine.
We charge $150. dollars for a custom fitting. We build bikes just as a tailor in the Fashion industry would sew a custom suit.
Mike Palmeri started racing and building BMX bikes in 1974. His raced for one of the biggest teams in the industry, Schwinn Bicycle Company for five years. He trained on the Velodrome track and by racing and mountain biking in the North Georgia Mountains. His father, Big Joe Palmeri, helped Mike weld and build BMX forks, road forks, and weight lifting machines .
Mike’s first business venture was Palmeri General Services which is now Palmeri Cycles. We started making frames in 1999 with Carl Strong and now with Richie Moore.
The Palmeri family loves to ride! My wife is not only my riding companion, but also an integral part of the success of our store. My brother and his wife, my nephew’s, and many of our kids, are extremely involved in cycling. Cycling is our passion!
