About Us
The crew at Cartecay Bike Shop has a passion for bicycling and believes that North Georgia is a mecca for mountain and road cycling. We just love to ride bikes and have a good time.
- Mike Palmeri
-
Shop OwnerMike Palmeri has been riding and racing bikes since he was 14. He raced professionally for the Schwinn Factory Race Team for 5 years. Mike is also an Atlanta Fireman who cooks a mean calzone. A pioneer of the sport, Mike opened Cartecay Bike Shop 20 years ago and has been a major part of developing mountain biking in North Georgia. At the shop, Mike keeps the energy levels high, always goofing around and being crazy.
- Kevin Kellar

Shop Manager & WrenchKevin can be found happily wrenching, keeping the rental bikes in tip-top shape and helping customers all day long while listening to Hair Nation on Sirius Radio. Kevin found his passion for cycling over 10 years ago while exploring the trails in Ellijay. He hasn't put the bike down since. When Kevin is not in the shop, he can be found training for races and getting everyone fired up and worn out.
- Larry Dameron

GuideLarry is a fun, hearty soul who never gets enough of riding. He showed up to the local group rides a few years back with his son, James. Both were new to mountain biking. He's taken to bicycling as a fish takes to water and is always up for the next challenge. His easy-going personality and positive attitude is contagious. He loves to enjoy a day on the bike with others.
- Anna Johnson

GuideAnna found her love of bicycling at the same time Kevin and Mary were discovering the trails. Anna moved from Macon to Ellijay to roam through the forest on her bike like a wild animal, she explains that living in Ellijay is like being on a permanent vacation. Guiding is a dream job for Anna as she can share her love of cycling. It's never quiet when Anna is around (we've learned to not feed her any espresso!) as she is always joking around and making people laugh.
