My 50 mile mtb
I park at the bottom Turner creek TH on FS 28, then I start by going back
south on FS 28 to junction of FS77 thats where the moss Creek conn. picks up
to the right, take it, Follow trail short trail, and cross FS 77 stay on
trail pay attention the trail has a few turns at some of the food plot
clearings. The next “trail” junction is at the top of a climb and the trail
come in from the right, follow trail to the left, follow trail all the way
to the bull mountain start, follow trail up and at next junction take a
right on to the whoops ta doos stay on trail all the way down to creek
crossing, cross the creek then make a left and the climb starts, a few mor
yards up the trail a it splits take the one to the right, you know it
because its the one that never stops climbing keep goingthis is Bare hare
trail across the top and start decending you will come to Bull Mountain
trail take a right/continue straigh down, a wonderful fantastic ride
downhill for a long time. You will loop back around to the bottom at the
whoops trail junction take a right and go back down the way you came, when
your at the Bull TH at the FS road take a right, you will come to a parking
lot turn left to the parking lot ride thru it and follow the trail markings
to the right to get on trail, follow trail over FS road and continue when
you get to the end it dumps you off on FS28 turn left in 100 yards you will
see Jake mountain conn. to the right straight up hill take it and stay on
this trail, it will take you to a parking lot, stay on the trail turn left,
now your on this trail for about 4 miles, you’ll cross a a deep creek, I
walk it, and then there will be a massive lung buster of a climb, stay on
trail you will come to a curve with a trail that leads off to the right, it
says Jake Mt. trl take it, continue up the trail there will shortly be a
trail to the left it might say Jake mt, take it and follow it down to the
forest road then turn right, you should wind up back at your car. Eat
replenish and get ready for some climbing.
Go back down FS 28 like before, but this time when you get to the FS
77 get on it take a right , then guick right stay on this road til the top
of winding stair gap, at winding stair make a hard left on to FS 42you wil
climb up and down for a few more mile then when you see the Springer Mt TH
parking lot it will be down hill all the way to doublehead gap rd, take a
right stay on road it will turn to dirt, then when you come to Forest signs,
turn right onto FS 58, stay on this road all the way back to winding stair
gap go back down winding stair FS 77 when you get to the bottom of the grade
you will see a forest double track to the hard left, its called no tell trl
223P or something, take the hard left, then you take a quick right this is
turner creek trl 223L and super fast and fun downhill all the way to the
car, now on turner creek pay attention there is one turn to the left at a
junction 223M and then a right turn onto double track then keep a sharp eye
to the left for the last turn, it has signs with no horse’s, follow trail to
service road , turn right and your car should be right there.
The alternate long route would be when you get back to Winding Stair off FS
58 turn left onto FS42, stay on 42 all the way around to Coopers Gap turn
right at Coopers gap on to FS 80follow it down past the ranger camp it turns
into FS 28 keep going, past camp wassega turn to the right stay on FS 28 to
your car, that would add about 17-20 more miles.
Hope this help’s I assume no liability, use the turns and map, and the
National Geo map its pretty simple but worse case you go around in a circle,
the trails either go where your supposed to or they deadend if you make a
wrong turn, its not like Pisgah where you could get seriously lost.

Start at the Bike Shop go South on Old Hwy 5 Main street. After the first traffic light you will have about 4 miles of automobile traffic. Once you pass Hwy 382 traffic will slow and it is a very nice ride South until you hit a Dead-end. GA Hwy 136 turn left. You can go straight into Jasper Georgia and turn around and come back to Ellijay, this will be 42 miles with a 3 mile climb into Jasper. Second way, after you turn left onto GA Hwy 136, the first road to your left will bring you to the Town of Talking Rock. Cross over the railroad track and there is a little park on the right with bathrooms and water if you need anything. Stay straight on the road after you cross over the railroad track the road curves to your left threw Talking Rock Town and up a hill and 136 will fork off to the right do not go right, stay left and you will go into White Stone where there is a Marble Dust mine on your right. After the Marble Mine the road will turn to the left, turn left and it will start climbing up to the GA Hwy 515, be careful crossing over 515 stay straight the road turns into Whitestone rd., good downhill, this will bring you back to Old Hwy 5, Turn right back to town be about 35 miles
